BodyAware – The Feldenkrais Method

BodyAware classes use the Feldenkrais Method® to integrate you into new patterns of moving and being, through sequences of gentle movements, designed to make you more aware and help you find easier, better ways of moving – great for your sport and your everyday life.

BodyAware (Feldenkrais) is about…

–          Moving well, whatever you’re doing and whatever your age and stage
–          Improving your coordination, strength, flexibility, balance
–          Increasing awareness and  sensitivity to your body
–          Gaining ability to move with more ease and flow
–          Involves learning and unlearning,  using your brain’s amazing inbuilt plasticity
–          Discovering that less really can be more
–          Utilises the simple but sophisticated Feldenkrais Method®

Our brains tell our bodies how to move.

BodyAware classes involve movement, but actually, the focus is on your brain and your nervous system. Perfect, since our brains actually tell our bodies how to move!

The more easily we can move, the more likely we are to be pain free, active and healthy, no matter what we’re doing or what stage of life we’re at.

By finding out how you move and how you use your body, you learn how the way you move is contributing to your problems. Learning new, easier, and more comfortable ways to move replaces these old habits with new, healthier and better ones. Our brains have the ability to do this, using the science of neuroplasticity, and BodyAware classes provide the opportunity and support for this.
